Kids and Kritters Parade

Casino Beach parking lot
The parade grounds are located adjacent to the Pensacola Beach Visitor Information Center, and the Beach Ball Water Tower in the Casino Beach parking lot. The Casino Beach lot is just south of the traffic light on Pensacola Beach.
The parade grounds open at noon for spectators to enjoy the featured guests and get a good viewing spot inside the barricades.
Registration opens at 1 p.m. and everyone is welcome to join the parade. You must register, but kids (and other people) are free. Pets are $10 each. Parade entrants must be in costume and must provide their own throws. No candy, no paper coupons.
The pre-parade dance show kicks off at 1:30 p.m. with the Dancingly Yours dance showcase under the direction of Monette Hodges.
The parade, which is a walking procession begins at 2 p.m. with the presentation of the Krewe of Kids’ royal court, followed by the National Anthem.
Prizes for the top three Costumed Kritters, and the top three mini floats. 
Mini Floats can be constructed on a wagon, stroller, luggage cart or anything that can be pushed or pulled. No bicycles, skateboards or motorized entries. 
Spectators should bring a bag to haul home their beads and trinkets. There is no charge to attend and parking is free.

Krewe of Wrecks Parade

to the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach
The beach’s original Mardi Gras krewe, the Krewe of Wrecks, delivers marching units, oversized floats with generous riders, dignitaries and krewe royalty in the beach’s biggest parade.
Arrive early, parking fills up fast. If you plan to stay all weekend, book your stay now!

The parade ends in the Casino Beach parking lot. After the parade disbands, the Awards Ceremony and Party begin at the Gulfside Pavilion. It is open to the public at no charge. There will be music, performances, and the top krewes will be given awards for their float designs and costumes. The coveted Grand Marshall’s Award will be announced.
Here are a few Mardi Gras reminders to help the good times roll:
* There is no charge to attend, but it’s wise to come early and stay late. Parking lots begin to fill up around 10 a.m. Parking is free and there are public restrooms located at the Casino Beach and Pensacola Beach Boardwalk. There are additional port-o-lets along the parade route.
* Watch where you step and stand. Some areas of Via de Luna are under construction.
* Island businesses open early for breakfast.
* The parade floats line up beginning at 11 a.m. on Via de Luna. Stroll along the sidewalk and get a glimpse of the floats and riders.
* The parade rolls, rain or shine, at 2 p.m.
* If you want to catch beads, find a spot behind the barricades. The barricades line the entire parade route up from Avenida 11 to the Casino Beach parking lot.
* Be considerate of those around you. Have a good time and deposit trash in containers.
* Motorists, please use extreme caution and patience. Park in designated areas only. Don’t drink and drive.
* Typically, Via de Luna will be closed to vehicles about 20 minutes prior to the 2 p.m. parade time and it will reopen when the parade has disbanded.
